Problem with multiple release dates

Hello again

I'm having trouble trying to set different dates for the release of the eggs.
In Main - Time - Starting the simulation I use Add value to add new egg release dates. The problem occurs when I try to release the eggs several times in very near dates: for example I set 20 days in Transport duration and then I choose 01-07-2013 and 15-07-2013 as release dates. Then Ichthyop performs the first simulation and when it starts with the second one an error message appear:

ichthyop[info] [Simulation] Run 2 / 2
ichthyop[info] [Simulation] Initialising...
ichthyop[info] {Dataset} Open C:\Users\Víctor\Desktop\Ichthyop\ROMS_output_files\roms_WMOP_HINDCAST_avg_20130101.nc
ichthyop[severe] Java heap space | java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
ichthyop[severe] [Simulation] Initialisation failed

This does not occur when I set, for example, 01-07-2013 and 25-07-2013 as release dates. The problem seems to be when the simulations overlap. I don't know what could be going on.

Thank you very much in advance

Hi Victor

The java heap space error can be solved following the instructions provided here: http://www.ichthyop.org/documentation/ichthyop-32-userguide#java_heap_space

However, if you still get the error message, could you please send me your configuration file, and eventually a sample NetCDF file, so that I can reproduce the error?

Thanks

Nicolas

Thank you very much Nicolas for your help.
I've read the manual but as I'm pretty clumsy with computers I don't know where to paste the command: java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar ichthyop-3.#.jar to make it work.
Actually what I did was go to a more powerful desktop instead of doing the simulations on the laptop but I would like to know how to fix it in case I need to simulate on the laptop later on.
Thank you very much again

Hi Victor

In Windows, you must set up an environment variable

JAVA_OPTS="-Xms256m -Xmx512m"JAVA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx1024m"

You will find some informations here:
