HYCOM, ICTHYOP and R

Dear community,

I have been reading some examples about how to use HYCOM in Ichtyop. Unfortunately, all the examples in this forum are in python. It seems that the solution is rather simple, nonetheless I have been trying and I cant do it, I am not even familiar with the .nc files. I am no good in programming, and I dont know nothing about python, I have been trying to use R to no avail. Not even stackoverflow helped me.  I was wondering if someone have done the interpolation in R to run Ichtyop. I would be greatly grateful.

Thank you very much

Cheers

Hi Luis

In order to try to run the interpolation example files in Python, you may first need to install the Anaconda2 version of Python (https://www.anaconda.com/distribution/). You need to install version 2.7, since the scripts may not be compatible with Python 3.7.

When this is done, you might need to install some additional packages (netCDF4, xarray) following the procedure described here: https://docs.conda.io/projects/conda/en/latest/user-guide/tasks/manage-p...

> conda install netCDF4

> conda install xarray

When you have done all this, come back to me and I will help you running the scripts
